What is Renault CAN Clip used for?
Renault CAN Clip is the official dealer diagnostic software for Renault and Dacia vehicles. It reads and clears fault codes from all modules, monitors live data, programs UCH (body control units), codes key cards, performs ECU reprogramming, resets service intervals, and provides Renault’s official diagnostic procedures.
Does CAN Clip work on Windows 10?
CAN Clip does not officially support Windows 10. It can be run on Windows 10 with compatibility mode settings and driver workarounds, but the most reliable approach is a dedicated Windows 7 laptop or a virtual machine. Results on Windows 10 vary between installations.
Does Renault CAN Clip cover Dacia vehicles?
Yes. Renault CAN Clip covers all Dacia models: Sandero, Logan, Duster, Spring EV, Dokker, Lodgy, and Jogger. Dacia vehicles use Renault electronics and are fully supported in CAN Clip since Dacia is part of the Renault Group.
Can CAN Clip program Renault key cards?
Yes. Renault CAN Clip supports key card initialization and programming — both adding new cards and erasing lost ones. This requires the UCH to be in a programmable state and at least one working card already recognized, or via PIN-based unlock procedure.
What is UCH programming in CAN Clip?
UCH (Unité Centrale Habitacle) is Renault’s body control module. After replacing a UCH, it must be programmed with the vehicle’s VIN, mileage, and IMMO data using CAN Clip. This is a dealer-exclusive function — aftermarket tools cannot perform UCH programming.
Does CAN Clip support Renault Zoe diagnostics?
Yes. CAN Clip V236 provides full Renault Zoe EV diagnostics including battery management system (BMS) access, individual cell voltage monitoring, motor controller diagnostics, charger fault reading, and high-voltage system service functions.
Can CAN Clip reset the DP0 automatic gearbox?
Yes. After a DP0/AL4 automatic gearbox fluid change, CAN Clip can perform the mandatory adaptation reset (hydraulic oil level setting) and shift quality initialization. Skipping this reset after an oil change causes poor shift quality.
What Nissan models does CAN Clip support?
CAN Clip supports selected Nissan models sold in Europe that share Renault platforms: Nissan Micra (K12, K13), Note (E11), Kubistar (rebadged Kangoo), and some Juke variants. It does not cover Japanese-market Nissan models or models on purely Nissan platforms.
