Renault CAN Clip has been continuously updated since its introduction, with each version extending coverage to newer models and adding new diagnostic functions. Here is the key version history.
Early Versions (V100βV140, 2010β2015)
Early CAN Clip versions established the platform foundation with coverage for Renault vehicles from 1998 onwards. V120+ added Dacia Duster (2010) and improved coverage for the Renault Clio IV and Megane III.
V150βV175 (2015β2018)
These versions added first-generation Renault Zoe (2013+) EV diagnostics including battery management system access. Coverage extended to Renault Kadjar (2015), Espace V (2015), and Talisman (2015). Dacia Dokker and Lodgy coverage added.
V180βV210 (2018β2021)
Added Renault Clio V (2019), Captur II (2019), and Zoe ZE50 (2019 β larger 50kWh battery). Improved UCH Gen 2 programming procedures. V200+ introduced improved Dacia Spring EV support and updated key card programming for newer Renault models.
V220βV236 (2022βCurrent)
- V220: Renault Arkana (2021), Megane E-Tech Electric (2022) initial support
- V225βV230: Expanded Renault Austral (2022), Espace VI (2023) coverage. Updated DP0/EDC gearbox adaptation procedures
- V236 (current): Latest stable release. Covers Renault models to 2024 model year including Scenic E-Tech Electric. Updated Dacia Jogger hybrid diagnostics. Improved Zoe battery balancing procedures. Enhanced UCH programming for 2022+ UCH designs
Recommended Version
V236 is the recommended version for most users β it provides the broadest coverage and the most up-to-date diagnostic procedures. Earlier versions are still useful for workshops focused on older Renault vehicles but miss coverage for 2020+ models.
