Required Hardware — ECU Reading Tool
DaVinci does not work via ELM327 or basic OBD2 adapters. You need a professional ECU reading tool to extract and reflash the ECU binary:
- KTag, Kess V2 / Kess3, KT200, BDM100, PCMFlash
Hardware ID Lock — Critical
DaVinci reads your PC hardware fingerprint (CPU ID, HDD serial, machine name) to validate the license. This means:
- Will NOT run in VMware or VirtualBox — virtual hardware IDs are blocked (error: No Virtual IMG Created)
- Must be installed on a physical Windows machine
- Changing hardware (new HDD, new CPU) may require reactivation
Antivirus Warning
Like most ECU tuning tools, DaVinci may be flagged by antivirus software due to low-level hardware access. Add the installation folder to antivirus exclusions before running.
