Overview
Three tools dominate the DPF/EGR ECU file modification market: DaVinci, WinOLS and EVC. Each takes a different approach and suits different skill levels.
DaVinci DPF EGR DTC v1.0.28
- Approach: Automated — load .bin, select ECU, click OFF, save
- Skill required: Low to medium — no map knowledge needed
- Reading tools: KTag, Kess V2, KT200, BDM100, PCMFlash
- Best for: Fast DPF/EGR/AdBlue removal on supported Bosch, Delphi and Siemens ECUs
- Limitation: Only works on ECUs in its database — no manual map editing
WinOLS
- Approach: Manual — find and edit DPF/EGR maps in hex or 3D map view
- Skill required: High — deep knowledge of ECU map structures needed
- Best for: Full custom remaps, any ECU, any reading tool
- Limitation: Steep learning curve and expensive license
EVC (Emission Violations Corrector)
- Approach: Semi-automated with ECU database, similar to DaVinci
- Skill required: Low to medium
- Best for: Quick emissions removal across a broad ECU list
- Limitation: Subscription-based, requires online connection for each operation
