ODIS Service has undergone significant evolution since its introduction, with major changes in architecture, vehicle coverage, and protocol support. Here is the complete version timeline.
ODIS Service 3.x β 5.x (2013β2016)
ODIS replaced the older VAS-PC system in 2013. Early versions focused on transitioning VAG dealerships to the new platform with support for CAN-based VAG vehicles. ODIS 3.x introduced the Guided Fault Finding (GFF) system that replaced the older guided diagnostics approach.
ODIS Service 7.x β 9.x (2017β2019)
These versions added support for MQB platform vehicles (Golf 7, Passat B8, Tiguan 2nd gen, Audi A3/Q2) and introduced the UDS protocol for newer ECU flashing. ODIS 7+ was required for proper Golf 7.5 and Audi B9 A4/A5 support.
ODIS Service 12.x β 17.x (2019β2021)
ODIS 12 was the first version to fully support DoIP (Diagnostics over Internet Protocol) β the high-speed diagnostic protocol used on MEB electric vehicles (ID.3, ID.4) and newer MQB-B models. Required VAS 6154 interface for DoIP functions. Added comprehensive coverage for Skoda Octavia (4th gen) and VW Golf 8.
ODIS Service 22.x β 25.x (2022βCurrent)
- ODIS 22: Full Golf 8 coverage including IQ.Drive driver assistance systems calibration, OTA update management interface
- ODIS 23β24: Expanded Audi Q4 e-tron, Skoda Enyaq, Cupra Born EV diagnostics. Updated ADAS calibration procedures
- ODIS 25 (current): Latest stable version. Adds VW ID.7, Audi Q6 e-tron, updated Porsche Taycan (2024) coverage. Improved DoIP flashing reliability. Enhanced GFF procedures for electrified powertrains
ODIS Engineering Version History
ODIS Engineering 19 is the current widely used version, providing engineering-level parameter access for vehicles up to current production. ODIS-E versions correspond to specific ECU families rather than model years directly.
